Ganpati
Bappa Morya, Mangal Murti Morya, this is the first thing that you would hear during
Bappa’s auspicious month of Visarjan. Being
in Pune for 4 years, and seeing Bappa’s Visarjan at College was a good
experience, but this time experiencing live in city amongst thousands made it
more meaningful and fun. There were faces full of joy, filled with emotions
which made it more meaningful to me.
I had
thought of experiencing it with everyone one last time before leaving the city
and as a photographer for this propitious day seeing emotions, celebration
everywhere made a photographer happy about his work and made me more excited
about the upcoming Visarjans in the coming years. Therefore, I was in Pune
searching where to visit to see our most beloved Ganpati Bappa, when asked the
localities, there was only one place that I would have been at Ladaki Pul
Bridge near J.M Road.
I finally was there; the road was full of people
dancing, singing Morya Re Bappa Morya Re, Morya Morya Morya Re. I was amused to
see such devoted bunch of people there, that I could not stop myself from
singing such a beautiful song in all together. Therefore, as I kept myself busy
in clicking pictures I realized, somehow I am capturing the moments, and
enjoying them, but dancing and singing along the beautiful people out there
would be something crazy in itself. Hence I kept my camera inside for a while
and made myself busy enjoying with everyone out there, it did not feel as if I
was new to them, it felt like I knew them from long before.
In
addition, the streets were full with the photographers capturing the prettiest
moments at their level best. I amongst them came across two beautiful
photographers, who shared their thoughts with me about photography and we were
together for more than 2 hours capturing the moments. We spoke to many people
on the road, few were random talks, and few melted our hearts with emotion as
we came to know about few of the life stories people shared with us. Yes, I am
talking about the stories of poor people that we came across this afternoon,
for world they must be beggars, but for us they were the people who really are
facing the challenges in today’s world, I respect if anyone’s so daring to face
such difficulties in life.
Moreover,
while I was moving from one place to another in search of Ganpati Bappa
and cherish bunch of people, I came across a group of very impressive people,
who were holding hoardings with a message "Save water from polluting". They had
created small storage's where people could come and do their Visarjans in a
non-pollutant way. However, most of the people were doing the Visarjan in the
lake nearby, but many turned out to understand the message and did their
Visarjan in the storage's created by our “Hero’s of India”.
Having Known
that India is a Nation where people have importance to Culture at all levels
than anything and this is something we as beautiful team of people are known
for, but as a matter of fact be it any
festival, are we making sure that we are not harming the “Goddess Mother Earth”
at the same time.
“Festivals
may come with celebrations to us but what it ends with is the pollution harming
the Nature Earth and us at the end of the day”
