Kashid: A Destination for Peace Lovers

We may or may not have been to the beaches of India. There are quite a lot of them, but how nicely people have kept them alive is the question that arises to my mind when I hear about the Beaches of India. Therefore, the one in Kashid comes among very few beaches of India that I personally appreciate. Kashid, located 30 Kilometers from Alibaug (Maharashtra), 172 Kilometers from Pune and 122 Kilometers from Mumbai, is one of the less known destinations amongst the beach lovers. The beauty of the place lies in its beaches, most are secluded, not so frequently visited by people and one where you will find most of the people, engaging themselves into sports, playing with the waves, or be it anything enjoying snacks at the shacks. 

 Therefore, as we entered the place what we noticed was, there were people, there were horseman’s and different sports that people kept themselves occupied with, but one good thing was the cleanliness that everyone had maintained at their level best. I could barely come across anything that would have spoiled the beauty of the place. The occupied beach of Kashid is still not comparable to what we see in Goa or Mumbai, where you’ll end up seeing thousands on the same beach, they beauty of the place is that, you will find a very few people there, relaxing on the Hammocks. 

As we move ahead of that beach, nearly 1 km away from there, we found ourselves near an another beach, where we barely could see any one. Therefore, we entered the beach, the place was quiet, and I would say a perfect place for readers and travelers. While we were there on the beach, we saw various bungalows next to the beaches, where we could see a few residents of the place gardening their rich bungalows. Moreover, there were a few one or two bedroom houses, which the residents were renting you out on a price of 800 for four people. If you are not so keen towards staying in a four or a five star, I guess you would enjoy the beauty of the place. 

However, yes there’s a lavish hotel near the beach, if you are ready to spend 6500 per night, so exactly as happened with us, we thought of entering this hotel XXXXXX, the security guard stopped us and showed us the price list saying that “Bhaiya itne ka room hai” ( this is the price of the room). Seeing that we thought of moving to another please near Alibaug in search of a descent hotel, as few of our friends were not comfortable staying in the shacks.

If I am not wrong, many would give a thought would we get booze over there, though not on the beaches, but yes there are a couple of shops, where you can buy it from. Do buy it, as after a point of time in evening, you might not find it there.

If you are a Photographer, I would suggest the occupied beach is the perfect place to be at in the evening. Being a photographer, I could see colors everywhere and yes it somewhat made a memorable evening and journey in itself. In addition, there are a few destinations nearby; if there is some significance for history, you should plan a visit to Janjira Fort, situated our hour from Kashid. The fort has its history and significance, as the fort is in middle of the water, a visit there would show you many hidden mysteries behind the fort.
